David Hardy
My path into dog training was shaped through hands-on work with shelter and rescue dogs in structured training environments. That experience taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and clear communication, and it continues to guide how I approach training today.
I specialize in real-world, relationship-based dog training focused on helping dogs and their owners better understand each other. My goal is to create calm, functional households by teaching practical skills that apply to everyday life, not just controlled training settings.
At Pawsitive Pathways, I work with dogs of all backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on basic obedience and manners, behavior modification and reactivity, confidence building, impulse control, structured introductions, and adoption transition support. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all training. Every dog and every household is different, and training should reflect that.
In addition to running my training business, I serve as the Facility Manager at Boise Bully Breed Rescue, where I assist with behavioral evaluations, dog introductions, and adoption meets. This role allows me to work closely with dogs who are often misunderstood and helps bridge the gap between rescue environments and successful homes.
Training is about more than teaching commands. It is about creating structure, reducing confusion, and building trust. When dogs understand what is expected of them and owners understand how to communicate clearly and consistently, stronger relationships follow.
My mission is simple: to help dogs gain clarity and confidence, and to help owners build calmer, more cohesive relationships in their homes. Whether you are working through behavioral challenges, welcoming a new dog, or looking to strengthen your connection, I am here to support you every step of the way.
